This indoor athletic facility opened in 2017 and features 15,000 square feet of turf. While it’s a multisport center there’s an emphasis on baseball and softball training, as The Yard has eight batting cages and is outfitted with pitching machines and mounds, plus it’s home to the Lexington Baseball School.

This indoor facility is located behind Southern High School and alongside the school’s baseball field but is open to the general public. The batting cages have token-operated pitching machines that throw baseballs or softballs at a variety of speeds (starting at 40 MPH). It’s worth noting that customers must pay to practice here in cash, as credit cards are not accepted.
